Crossover Adventure - Locations (I)
This is another piece of writing for the Crossover Adventure (Call of Cthulhu + Old School Elf games). Now, locations!
Town
The town is a village with some buildings. It feels dirty and dusty and the grass in the area dry. The smell is unpleasant but bearable.
The main buildings, aside from homes, are a church and a general store which also serves as a tavern.
The Church
Simple church with some of the idols removed. Currently the mayor conducts masses each day, in the name of "The mother".
- There is only one statue kept in its place with a bone ring (Ring of freezing: the wearer turns any liquid they touch into ice. The ice starts melting after few seconds)
- Four dusty pieces of religious paraphernalia (total 200GP) near the altar, in the main room of the church.
- Some whiskey is stored in the backrooms of the church in a box.
The general goods store
Store run by an old man named Jester. Sells corrupt corn and whiskey mainly, but also has some other food like fish or water from the main river if you ask. There is also a filthy room available for travelers, for a gold piece per night. The man keeps 100 gold pieces under nightstand in his room.
Mayor's home
The mayor lives in a two story wooden house empty of any decorations and full of empty shelves.
- Storage room below the stairs with books, lots of them torn apart.
- Main bedroom upstairs, untidy and smells horrible. There are 500 gp below the bed, in a small box and 500 more gp in the wardrobe in a coinpurse.
- Second bedroom upstairs too. Clean and tidy. The mayor brings food each morning to this bedroom for his mother, nobody eats it, and brings it back down after few minutes.
The forests
The forests are mutating due to the stream flowing from the cave. Some of the trees are alive and eat animals or the occasional unlucky traveler. When traveling through or near the forest roll on the following encounter table.
Roll 1d6
- Two villagers offering an animal to a tree to eat. They will try to chop the tree after it finishes eating (The tree roots can heal any wound, but advance the infection in one step)
- Three villagers with shovels and axes hurrying to go to town. They carry a severed arm.
- Two cursed trees. Hungry. Will try to eat whatever they get first.
- Two Disciples of Ramnjam (Human form) talking with four villagers. The villagers want to kidnap them.
- Two Disciples of Ramnjam (Human form), which have been taken by two different cursed trees, crying for help
- A random guy named Johann. He is well dressed and can pay for protection.
